Steve Kerr criticizes Warriors over late fouls: 'Shame on us'

The Houston Rockets won Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors in overtime, and a couple of late fouls had a lot to do with the extra period.

Houston scored its final four points in regulation on made free throws. Both fouls were incurred on plays that had Kerr scratching his head about, as he shared on Sunday speaking with the media.

Kerr: "To me, when I watched the game, the last four points of regulation were the key to the game. We give up four free throws — one foul 85 feet from the hoop and the other just a reach…

Last Kerr: "You have to be locked in on that stuff because you're playing against great players who are going to make plays. So if they do, you pat 'em on the back, you say nice play. But if you foul 'em on plays that you know they're masters at drawing, you know, shame on us."

Aside from the two careless fouls, Golden State actually played stellar defense in the final five minutes of regulation. So, these two careless fouls stand out all the more as egregious mistakes.

As we know, Houston did tie the game up and then won by five points in overtime, claiming their first victory in this series. Now we’ll see if Kerr can get his Warriors to play with some more discipline in Game 4.
