The Minnesota Vikings might move on from veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph ahead of the 2019 season after drafting Irv Smith in the 2019 NFL Draft.

A two-time Pro Bowler, there would be a nice amount of interest in Rudolph’s services.

In what can’t be considered too much of a surprise, that includes the New England Patriots. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Pats have talked to Minnesota about Rudolph.

New England has added veterans Benjamin Watson, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins and Matt LaCosse following the retirement of Rob Gronkowski. That could be a decent trio of tight ends. Though, Rudolph would be a major upgrade over all three.

A former second-round pick from Notre Dame, Rudolph racked up 64 receptions for 634 yards last season.
