Panthers hire retired DE Julius Peppers as special assistant

The 2018 NFL season marked the final one for Carolina Panthers legendary defensive end Julius Peppers, who recently retired. But, that doesn’t mean Peppers and the Panthers are done. According to a report, Peppers has been hired by the Panthers as a special assistant in charge of business operations.

This future Hall of Famer was selected second-overall by the Panthers in 2002. Over his 10 illustrious seasons with the Panthers, Peppers was responsible for 97 sacks and 436 combined tackles.

He was also admired for his veteran presence in the locker room and served as a team mentor.

Congratulations are in order for Peppers as he ventures to the business side of things in Carolina.
