Kyler Murray signs rookie contract as Cardinals ink six rookies

Kyler Murray, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, has officially signed his rookie contract as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

The team announced Murray and five other rookies inked their first contracts on Thursday evening. In addition to the first overall pick, the Cardinals signed second-round cornerback Byron Murphy, third-round defensive end Zach Allen, sixth-round wide receiver KeeSean Johnson, seventh-round offensive lineman Joshua Miles and seventh-round tight end Caleb Wilson.

As the No. 1 overall pick, Murray’s initial deal is a four-year contract worth $35.2 million, including a $23.59 million signing bonus and a 2019 salary cap number of $6.39 million.

Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Murray passed for 4,361 yards with 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He and the rest of Arizona’s rookies will report to their first rookie minicamp on Friday.
