Kawhi Leonard on hot streak not seen since Michael Jordan in 1993

If you haven’t been paying attention to Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors lately, you’ve been missing out on a spectacular show.

The two-way superstar has been on a tremendous roll in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers. On Sunday in Game 4, he put up 39 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and hit a dagger three with a minute left.

In the four games so far against Philly, Leonard has been pretty much unstoppable:

  • Game 1: 45 points, 11 rebounds, two assists
  • Game 2: 35 points, seven rebounds, six assists
  • Game 3: 33 points, four rebounds, three assists
  • Game 4: 39 points, 14 rebounds, five assists

Put it all together and the guy has scored 152 points, pulled down 36 rebounds and dished 16 assists. This puts him in some extremely rare company.

In fact, per Stats by STATS, Leonard is “the first player with 150+ points, 30+ rebounds and 15+ assists through 4 games of a playoff series since Michael Jordan in the 1993 NBA Finals against the Suns.”

The fact that Toronto is 2-2 in this series against Philadelphia shows just how good the Sixers are.

If the Raptors get more production from the likes of Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka — like they did in Game 4 — the series should tilt Toronto’s way. Assuming, of course, that Leonard continues to stay red hot.
