James Paxton is one of several key New York Yankees players sidelined with an injury. Fortunately, the Yankees are close to getting the lefty back.

Paxton, who’s been sidelined for nearly a month with a knee injury, said that he will start Wednesday’s game with the San Diego Padres.

Paxton’s return to the mound did feature a minor setback. He suffered a tweak to his knee during a recent workout. Fortunately, it was not serious enough to delay his return.

Paxton had pitched well for the Yankees prior to his injury. In seven starts, the southpaw had a 3-2 record 3.11 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts over 37.2 innings.
