The New Orleans Pelicans hosted the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. A pregame exchange between Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Anthony Davis was hard to ignore.
Immediately prior to the game, the Golden State stars seemed to go out of their way to greet Anthony Davis — who was not in uniform.
Of course, this could be nothing more than just three guys being friendly with each other. But there are some layers to this that need to be mentioned.
First, the shirt Davis wore to the game left little doubt that it was his last with the Pelicans.
Second, the Warriors were rumored to be interested in Davis prior to the trade deadline. In fact, another Golden State star, Kevin Durant, was seen haning out with Warriors GM Bob Myers and Davis’ agent.
This could all just be coincidental. But with the offseason looming around the corner, we can’t be too dismissive. This could be something. And what a something it would be.
