WATCH: Sixers, Nets exchange flagrant fouls

Things got chippy between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series Monday evening.

With Brooklyn already up 1-0 in the series, Joel Embiid and the Sixers were facing pressure in front of their home crowd.

Whether it was out of frustration or something completely different, Embiid nearly got thrown out of the game after committing a flagrant foul late in the second quarter.

Officials took a look at this play after Nets big man Jarrett Allen could be seen bleeding on the court. A better view arguably shows us that Embiid should’ve been assessed a Flagrant 2 and thrown out of the game.

Just a short while later, Nets forward Rodions Kurucs committed a Flagrant 1 on Sixers star Ben Simmons.

We all know that emotions are going to be high during the playoffs. But there’s really no room in the game for this.

With the game narrow at the half, it will be interesting to see how officials call the final two quarters.
