The shooting death of hip-hop legend Nipsey Hussle this past weekend in Los Angeles impacted the NBA world in a big way.

Earlier in the week, Oklahoma City Thunder star and Southern California native Russell Westbrook dedicated his record-breaking game to the legend.

It’s now LeBron James’ turn. Sidelined against the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center, King James paid his respects to Hussle by wearing a shirt with the late-great hip-hop artist’s likeness.

With Nipsey being a true icon in Los Angeles — the city of his death — this has hit the local community hard. James obviously understands that.

Many NBA players considered themselves friends with the mogul. That included James’ opponent Thursday night, Stephen Curry. The two-time NBA MVP took the news of Hussle’s murder especially hard.
