WATCH: Chris Sale playing catch among Red Sox fans in Fenway Park concourse

Rain may have washed out the Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox game on Monday. But Chris Sale was still giving Red Sox Nation a chance to see him throw.

Sale, who was Monday’s scheduled starter, was spotted playing some catch. Not only that, but he was playing catch in the main concourse at Fenway Park, in and amongst some of the would-be spectators.

No matter how many times you go to the ballpark, you can always see something new.

Given his admitted struggles, Sale is clearly not interested in taking the day off.

What’s really crazy here is the reaction of the fans. Given how often we see camera phones today, that’s a golden opportunity. But nobody is even breaking stride. Maybe they didn’t recognize him. Or maybe this particular group isn’t terribly prone to being star-struck.

Whatever the case, it’s a cool move on Sale’s part. Going to a game that gets rained out is always a bummer. But he’s giving some fans the chance to see something they probably don’t see very often.
