The St. Louis Cardinals’ home opener against the San Diego Padres Thursday afternoon was ultimately postponed due to rain.

Given the importance of baseball in the Gateway City, fans were holding out hope that the game could be played. Some were even spotted in tents outside of the stadium.

To make up for the long delay and eventual postponement, the Cardinals could be seen handing out hamburgers to fans waiting for the game to start.

That really is going above and beyond to cater to your fan base. Almost literally.

There’s a reason why these Cardinals typically rank among the best teams in MLB in attendance. Sure a good on-field product helps. But their PR team is absolutely on the ball. Great stuff.
