Steve Kerr says Stephen Curry’s ankle is fine

The Golden State Warriors received a scare during the early stages of Tuesday’s meaningless game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Already locked into the No. 1 seed out west, Golden State was resting stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. However, head coach Steve Kerr decided to give Stephen Curry some run in New Orleans.

Within the first few minutes of the game, the two-time NBA MVP rolled his ankle. The play itself looked pretty bad.

Curry was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game with what was then described as a right foot sprain.

Earlier on Wednesday, Golden State noted that Curry would miss the regular season finale against Memphis with a right ankle sprain.

The good news here? Kerr does not seem to be too worried about what now looks to be a minor injury.

The injury itself is no small thing, especially given his injury history. The early part of Curry’s career was defined by ankle injury after ankle injury.

More recently, Curry missed six games in the playoffs last year to a lower-body injury. Back in 2015-16, he was also hobbled by an ankle injury.

It was one of the underlying reasons Golden State blew a 3-1 series lead to Cleveland in that year’s NBA Finals.
