Steelers ‘actively trying’ to trade up into top-10 in Round 1, per report

Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly thinking about aggressively going after a top prospect in a trade-up scenario during the 2019 NFL Draft.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that Pittsburgh is “actively trying” to trade up into the top 10.

The thing that stands out is Pittsburgh’s need to fill the void that has yet to be filled from Ryan Shazier’s career-altering back injury. The Steelers need an impact inside linebacker, and there are a couple — Devin White out of LSU and Devin Bush out of Michigan — who will likely be selected in the top 10 of the draft.

If that isn’t the aim, then there’s a chance the Steelers could be aggressively going after a pass rusher, or even a dominant wide receiver.

Currently armed with the No. 20 overall pick and 10 overall selections in this year’s draft, Pittsburgh certainly has the ammunition to move up.
