Russell Westbrook honors Nipsey Hussle after historic game

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook recorded an historic triple-double on Tuesday. When it was over, he paid tribute to slain rapper, Nipsey Hussle.

Westbrook recorded 20 points, 21 assists, and 20 rebounds. In doing so, he became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968 to record a double triple-double. His 20th rebound sealed it. When he grabbed that rebound and after the game, Westbrook gave Hussle, who was murdered on Sunday, a shoutout.

Nipsey’s murder has sent shockwaves through the NBA with different players paying tribute in their own way.

It’s unfortunate that such a great game from Westbrook is associated with such a tragedy. But it is definitely a great tribute from the former league MVP.
