Devin White ‘in play’ for Raiders at No. 4 overall?

The Oakland Raiders are reportedly going to be hosting top linebacker Devin White out of LSU, who will fly in Tuesday for a two-day visit with the team.

There’s a chance he could be the team’s pick at No. 4 overall. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media noted it “sounds like he’s in play” at that spot.

If the Raiders really are interested in White, then they’d either have to take him with the fourth overall pick, or land him in a trade. While they do have three first-round picks, their second and third selections in the opening round (No. 24 and No. 27) come far too late to select this linebacker.

Widely considered to be the best linebacker in this year’s class, White combines incredible speed and athleticism with a strong nose for the ball. A player who was recently compared to legendary linebackers Patrick Willis and Ray Lewis, he’s going to be highly coveted in the top-10 when the 2019 NFL Draft kicks off.

Of course, Oakland is also said to be hot to trot for one of the best quarterbacks in the draft. At this point, it’s impossible to know what’s real and what is just a big smokescreen. The draft cannot come soon enough.
