Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes to take part in throwing challenge

Two of the strongest-armed young quarterbacks in the NFL could meet up in Kansas City and do something awesome for charity — a throw-off.

Earlier in the offseason Bills quarterback Josh Allen challenged reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes to a throwing challenge to see who has the strongest arm.

Mahomes accepted just recently.

“Josh (Allen) is a great dude,” Mahomes said, via the Batavia Daily . “But no one that I’ve known has been able to throw a ball farther than me. I’ve never seen Josh throw in person but maybe next offseason we can set something up (to see who can throw farther). Hopefully I can get him to come down to Kansas City, and we can do something for charity. It’s going to take at least 85 yards to win.”

We’ve seen both Allen and Mahomes throw the ball 70-plus yards down the field. It just so happens that Mr. Mahomes is a bit more accurate.

But we digress. The proceeds for this event, as Mahomes stated, would go to charity.

While this might not happen until next offseason, we’re all for it. Maybe it can take part during the slow time on the NFL calendar. We’re sure tens of thousands would show up at Arrowhead to witness it.
