Cubs giving away vinyls on Grateful Dead Night

When the Chicago Cubs host the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 24, it will not be any regular game. It will be Grateful Dead night at Wrigley Field.

And the promotional night offers a pretty sweet giveaway for those buying special tickets.

“In addition to a ticket to the game, fans who purchase a ticket through this offer will receive a double-sided, seven-inch vinyl record featuring two Grateful Dead songs,” the release said.

The two songs are “Brown-Eyed Woman” and “Cumberland Blues,” and the versions on the record were both performed at Chicago’s Auditorium Theater.

We do tend to associate the Grateful Dead with San Francisco. Nevertheless, this is appropriate. It’s quite fitting that an old park like Wrigley Field would host an event giving away vinyls. We’d suggest that all you Deadheads out there start Truckin’ to Clark and Addison to get in on this action.
