Aaron Rodgers opens up about ‘scary’ concussion, admits leg injury was worse than advertised

Aaron Rodgers had a disappointing 2018 campaign that was hampered by injuries, and now we know just how banged up the Green Bay Packers star really was.

In an appearance with ESPN’s Wilde And Tausch Tuesday, Rodgers opened up about his Week 17 concussion, and the nagging leg injury that hampered him early in the campaign.

Regarding the concussion, Rodgers admitted he lost vision and said it was “a little scary.”

That would be extremely frightening for any of us.

Rodgers also opened up about the leg injury that clearly hampered him early in the season, noting he had a “tibial plateau fracture and obviously an MCL sprain,” noting it was “very painful.”

Despite the leg injury, he did start all 16 games last year and put up stats most quarterbacks would be proud of. His completion percentage (62.3%) was way down from his career average as he worked with a mostly new group of young receivers. Yet Rodgers still passed for 4,442 yards and 25 touchdowns with just two interceptions.

Clearly, he can still play at an extremely high level. Yet the injuries do appear to be mounting, which is why we recently advocated for Green Bay to proactively find his eventual replacement — before it’s too late.
