Seahawks reportedly re-signing LB Mychal Kendricks

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

A potential long-term stay in prison apparently hasn’t impacted the Seattle Seahawks’ plans for linebacker Mychal Kendricks.

According to multiple media reports, the Seahawks have re-signed the embattled former CAL star in free agency.

Kendricks, 28, pleaded guilty to insider trading charges back in September. He was released by the Browns after reports of an indictment broke.

The linebacker faces up to 25 years in prison. Though, it’s being reported that his sentence will be between 30-37 months. Kendricks was slated to be sentenced back in January, but that’s since been pushed back to next month.

A second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012, Kendricks started 74 games in six seasons with the team. He was signed by the Cleveland Browns last March, but didn’t play a single game before being released by the team.

The NFL suspended Kendricks eight games for conduct detrimental to the league back in October.
