Report: Redskins latest team out of Antonio Brown trade talks

The number of teams seriously considering trading for embattled Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is trending downward in a big way.

That now reportedly includes the Washington Redskins, per ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

Washington had been bandied about as a potential landing spot for Brown. But it really didn’t make much sense from a financial standpoint.

In an unrelated move, the Skins are reportedly close to acquiring veteran quarterback Case Keenum from the Denver Broncos. A move of that ilk suggests that Washington just doesn’t have the cap room to add Brown’s salary.

At this point, it looks like just one team is really in on Brown — bidding against itself in the process.

Pittsburgh demanded that other teams put in their final proposals for Brown no later than Friday morning. That means something could happen on this front before the weekend. But it’s not going to include the team in the nation’s capital.
