Report: Chiefs interested in All-Pro Le’Veon Bell

We’d have to consider the Kansas City Chiefs big winners if they happen to manage a way to sign impending free agent running back Le’Veon Bell.

Take note of this bit of inside information gathered at the NFL Scouting Combine from CBS Sports insider Jason La Canfora.

“I continue to hear the Chiefs are, believe it or not, trying to do something big for an offensive skill player. Yes, despite all of the talent they have already amassed on that side of the ball, and despite their obvious issues on defense, they are sniffing around on trade options and some teams I spoke to wouldn’t be shocked if they got in on Le’Veon Bell, LaCanfora said. Bottom line is don’t be shocked if these guys come away with a big-time receiver or running back.”

Wow. LaCanfora also mentions a “big-time” receiver as well. Speculation would immediately connect Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown. Though, the likelihood Pittsburgh deals Brown to a top-end AFC franchise remains questionable.

Circling back to Bell, he would be an excellent fit in Andy Reid’s offense that loves utilizing dual-threat backs. The Chiefs had that in former running back Kareem Hunt.

Certainly, Bell would savor the possibility of playing with a Super Bowl contending rival of the Steelers in the AFC.

Things are about to get extremely fascinating in Bell’s camp very soon.
