Nuggets head coach Michael Malone blasts Isaiah Thomas

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets expected to get a shot in the arm following the return of guard Isaiah Thomas from injury a few weeks back.

Thomas made his debut with the team back on February 13 — helping Denver to wins in each of his first four games.

Unfortunately, the past two games have turned out differently. Denver is currently in the midst of a two-game losing streak after dropping games to the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans.

Following their most recent loss, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone put Thomas on absolute blast for the way he’s playing.

Malone is specifically talking about Thomas doing a better job moving the ball. He’s failed to put up a single assist in each of the past two games. Overall, the former MVP candidate is minus-13 in six games with the Nuggets.

As Malone notes, that’ just not going to cut it.

We’re highly intrigued to see how this situation plays out over the next several weeks. Thomas is going to need to fit in or face the possibility of being dropped from Denver’s rotation completely.

Denver heads into Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs with a 42-20 mark and as the No. 2 seed out west — 1.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors.
