New Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio is going to be reunited with a familiar face. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Denver has signed former Chicago Bears slot cornerback Bryce Callahan to a three-year, $21 million contract.

This report from NFL insider Benjamin Allbright had the news of the signing first.

Callahan, 27, starred for the first four seasons of his career with Fangio as the Bears’ defensive coordinator.

While Callahan did miss the past three games of last season with a foot injury, he was among the best slot cover guys in the NFL. The 27-year-old corner defended six passes and intercepted two others while yielding a low 76.3 passer rating.

By virtue of this move, it seems that Denver will move Chris Harris to the boundary corner position. Harris has been among the best slot guys himself over the past several years. There’s also a chance that Denver looks to trade the veteran.
