In an attempt to add some insurance to the offense with Matt Olson on the shelf, the Oakland Athletics have acquired Kendrys Morales in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays announced the entire trade on Twitter on Wednesday night.

Morales should have a pretty good opportunity to play in Oakland, at least while Olson is out.

He’ll bring decent power to the A’s lineup. Morales has topped 20 home runs in six of the last seven seasons and in each of the last four. In 2018, he hit .249/.331/.438 with 21 home runs for the Blue Jays.
