WATCH: James Harden torches the Heat for 58 points

Houston Rockets guard James Harden is just one absurd man. The likely MVP entered Thursday’s game against the Miami Heat with five 50-point games this season. No other player in the Association has reached that plateau more than once on the campaign.

Adding even more accolades to what has been an historical season for Mr. Harden, he went off for 58 points on 16-of-32 shooting with eight three-pointers in a 121-118 win over Miami on Thursday.

Harden was just something else throughout the night as his Rockets paid tribute to fellow future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade of the Heat.

We’re talking step-back three pointers from way outside in the face of elite defense.

He did it in crunch time — beating a solid on-ball defender in Justise Winslow for the layup to put Houston up four with under three minutes left.

That represented point No. 57 and 58 for the night. That’s all the Rockets would need as they came away with a narrow win.

Harden is now averaging an absolutely absurd 41 points per game over his past 35 outings. That includes five 50-plus point outings.

Yeah, someone is going to win a second consecutive NBA MVP.
