If we needed any further evidence that the Los Angeles Lakers can’t wait for the All-Star Break to start, the early portion of Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks provided us with it.
Taking on a Hawks team that’s won 18 of its first 56 games this season, the Lakers gave up a franchise record 10 three-pointers in the first quarter alone. It was an absolute barrage from beyond the arch for the Hawks.
Wait #TrueToAtlanta did WHAT against #LakeShow in the first quarter? (H/t @NBA). pic.twitter.com/IXVzAMVKYA

More than half of those treys weren’t even really contested by the Lakers. That just shows a lack of real effort. This includes LeBron James failing to close out at times.
When all was said and done, five different Hawks players hit threes in the opening stanza. That included Vince Carter and Alex Len going a combined 5-of-5 from distance. Yeah, that Alex Len.
