WATCH: AL MVP Mookie Betts can ball out on the gridiron

J.D.Martinez and Mookie Betts lead one of the most explosive offenses in MLB

Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts probably chose the right career path in high school. After all, the reigning AL MVP did have other options. He was a standout basketball player and bowler during his high school days in Tennessee.

While Betts didn’t necessarily dabble in football, this recent video he just posted to social media shows us a young man whose talents aren’t limited to the baseball diamond.

That’s some absolutely elite-level route-running skills from the 5-foot-9 MLBer. Equally as important, he came down with the catch.

We all know New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick likes his smallish receivers (hi, Julian Edelman and Wes Welker). Maybe Bill should call Betts up about a training camp tryout, right?
