This fantasy football bet went horribly awry for one man

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Fantasy football can be fun. It can be time consuming. And for many, it can be both costly and addictive.

A man by the name of Steven Shrout, 25, had never played fantasy football before the 2018 season. He joined a group of 11 high school friends to take part in a league this past season. At issue here is that all 11 of his friends have been playing fantasy football for a good decade.

Needless to say, Steven didn’t do too well.

“It was my first year, and I didn’t do any kind of studying at first. I just kind of jumped in,” Shrout said, via WFAA8 in Dallas.

That’s not the big deal here. Rather, Shrout owed the league’s eventual champion $250.00 for finishing dead last.

Instead of paying out that bounty, the young man agreed to an adult version of truth or dare.

The end result was Shrout heading into a dog park wearing nothing but a Speedo with peanut butter lining his body.

“Shrout’s league came up with a pretty funny punishment. He either had to pay up or stand in a Dallas dog park for 10 minutes, wearing only a gold speedo and had to be covered in peanut butter,” the report noted.

Yeah, that’s about the best possible punishment for finishing last in a fantasy football league.

The end result was absolutely hilarious — as evidenced by the video.

“I’m just a guy who’s brave,” Shrout said. Call it brave or something else, at least he’s a man of his word. Now to get the remaining peanut butter off his body.
