The Baltimore Ravens have rewarded one of their young stars. They have reportedly made Tavon Young the highest-paid nickel cornerback in the league.
On Thursday morning, Young tweeted out a message that indicated he’d been re-signed by Baltimore.
Extremely blessed and thankful to continue my career as a Baltimore Raven, Thanks to everyone in the @Ravens organization and teammates Let’s workkkkkkk!!

Not long afterward, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the details: “A three-year, $25.8 million extension with a max value of $29 million, making him the NFL’s highest-paid nickel back, per source.”
Young, still just 24 years of age, is one of the top cover corners in the NFL. He had a breakout 2016 campaign before suffering a season-ending injury prior to the 2017 season. Then, after rehabbing his torn ACL he reemerged as a top corner for Baltimore last season.
In two full seasons, Young has tallied 90 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions.
The former fourth-round pick out of Temple is now reaping the rewards for his stellar play.
