Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid will be out for at least a week as he rehabilitates left knee soreness, the team announced Wednesday.
The Sixers announce Joel Embiid is out for a week due to left knee soreness, and that an MRI revealed no structural damage. They also announced Furkan Korkmaz has torn his meniscus, and is out indefinitely — further weakening Philly’s thin rotation. pic.twitter.com/l9MxllOYJW

This is a new injury, as Embiid was a full participant in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte on Feb. 17. In that game, he played 23 minutes, scoring 10 points and hauling in 12 rebounds.
Embiid has been playing at an incredibly high level this season for the Sixers. Appearing in 54 games, he’s averaged 27.3 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.9 blocks per game.
