Jason Witten expects Cowboys offense to take off next season

Former Dallas Cowboys tight end and current ESPN analyst Jason Witten thinks that his former Cowboys offense will take off big time this coming season.

Witten’s thoughts come based on the Cowboys making Kellen Moore their new offensive coordinator.

“Look, I see this offense taking a big step in 2019, I really do, in what they try to do in how they build this offense with the strength of the team, said Witten, per David Moore of Sports Day.”

Witten continued by suggesting that Moore will look to work around quarterback Dak Prescott’s skill set.

“I think he’ll do the things that Dak likes to do. He’ll do the things they have to do to win. I think he’ll use the pass to set up the run, not just the run to set up the pass. I think he’ll do a good job with that.”

While we respect that Witten has high confidence in Moore, he may be spilling some the team’s secrets with his predictions.

Witten also said he thinks Prescott “is the quarterback here for the long term.” This would align with the Cowboys plans to secure Prescott with a long-term deal that would give him a massive raise in pay.

In regards to the Cowboys’ offense, Prescott and Co. will look to average more than the 21.2 points that was managed in 2018.
