The New York Jets have decided on former Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase to lead the team moving forward. At least, that’s what reports out of Jersey tell us Wednesday evening.
This isn’t a move that’s going to be met with optimism from the long downtrodden Jets fan base. Gase coached the Dolphins to a losing record in his three seasons in South Beach — overseeing an offense that ranked 30th in scoring this past season.
Whether this hire comes back to haunt the Jets and young quarterback Sam Darnold remains to be seen. But Twitter had its fun with the news.

Adam Gase loooooooved to feud with his players as Dolphins head coach. You put that dynamic in the Jets media market, and yikes.

I’m very curious to see if Gase was just in a bad situation but going to the Jets is a pretty lateral move https://t.co/NF0I0J0k02

Jets hiring Adam Gase. Might as well kept Bowles if they were going to do that

The last week from people around the NFL, I heard some good things about Gase. I heard some bad things about Gase. I didn’t hear a bad word about Mike McCarthy. It’s feels like the #Jets missed a wide open slam dunk. pic.twitter.com/tBMEhevoKJ

And from before the hiring.
