Report: Colts want to re-sign Adam Vinatieri

The ageless wonder should be coming back for another season.

According to Mike Chappell of Fox 59/CBS 4, the Indianapolis Colts are interested in re-signing 46-year-old kicker Adam Vinatieri.

The most recent visual of Vinatieri is him missing a short field goal and extra point during the AFC Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Without question, that was a disappointing game for the veteran.

However, it also was a major outlier.

During the regular season, Vinatieri connected on 85.2 percent of his 27 field-goal attempts. That ranked a perfectly adequate 17th in the NFL. It’s even more acceptable when factoring in two of his four misses happened from beyond 50 yards.

Vinatieri could retire but previously said he “can’t imagine” leaving the Colts if they want him to return in 2019.

Make it happen, Indy. We’re not done with Vinatieri and his Santa beard.
