The NBA has come down with a punishment for Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart, who attacked DeAndre’ Bembry of the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the league has fined Smart $35,000 for the incident, which includes the “physical altercation and failure to leave the court in a timely matter.”

The incident took place in the third quarter. Smart, who already had a technical foul in the game, was getting chippy with Bembry. Then he was hit with his second technical foul, prompting an automatic ejection.

That’s when all hell broke loose.

Really, Smart is lucky a fine is all he’s getting right now. A suspension could have been handed down, based on his actions.
