LeBron James: Luke Walton provides encouraging update on Lakers star

LeBron James hasn’t played a game for the Los Angeles Lakers since suffering a groin injury Christmas Day, but his return to the court will come soon.

On Tuesday, Lakers head coach Luke Walton provided an encouraging update indicating just that.

“I don’t think he’s going full out yet,” Walton said, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN. Haven’t really seen him drive the lane and tomahawk dunk on anyone but he’s moving, he’s moving well and he’s getting up and down the court & he’s shooting well. He doesn’t look like he’s hurting at all when he moves.”

James isn’t going to suit up for Tuesday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the Lakers are reportedly “hopeful” James can make his return on Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers, Tania Ganguli reported on Monday.

Los Angeles needs The King back in action. They’ve won just three of their last eight games and are now 1.5 games behind the Clippers for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. Of course, all the news recently has centered around Anthony Davis, who could certainly give this team a boost.
