John Harbaugh pumps up Joe Flacco trade value

As the Baltimore Ravens move into the Lamar Jackson era, recently extended head coach John Harbaugh is pumping up Joe Flacco’s trade value.

On Friday, Harbaugh touted his former starter and said he expects there to be a big market for Flacco’s services in 2019.

“I think his value is high. I’m not just saying that. Joe can throw the football. Joe’s ready to roll,” Harbaugh said, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “You protect Joe, you give him some weapons, you’re going to see one of the best QBs in the league.”

The Ravens have all but made it clear Flacco isn’t going to be in Baltimore next season, so it behooves them to send out the right signals at this time.

On that note, during his press conference Friday Harbaugh made it clear he wants Jackson’s backups to be similar in style to him. He mentioned Robert Griffin III and Tyrod Taylor as potential fits.

Flacco definitely does not fit that mold. He should definitely receive interest from quarterback-needy teams (like this one), and the Ravens should land a nice little haul in return.
