Dirk Koetter: One thing keeping Jameis Winston from becoming elite

Throughout his four years as quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jameis Winston has had plenty of struggles. And in the eyes of former head coach Dirk Koetter, Winston is failing to live up to his potential due to the ghastly amount of turnovers he has produced.

Through four seasons and 56 games, Winston has produced 58 interceptions, and he’s fumbled the ball 38 times.

Winston also sports a 21-33 career record, which is not exactly a glowing mark considering he was the No. 1 overall pick from the 2015 draft.

Another poor season for the Bucs resulted in the aforementioned Koetter being shown the door.

Though for now, the team is committed to Winston sticking around in 2019.

It is too early to even think about the Bucs upcoming season. But less turnovers by Winston is a must for the Buccaneers to have a shot at improving after a dismal 2018 finish.
