During the first quarter of Tuesday night’s Boca Raton Bowl between UAB and Northern Illinois, Blazers defensive back D.A. Williams went in for a tackle and never got back up again.
Really hope this UAB player who made this tackle is going to be okay, the hit looked awkward and he went down afterwards. pic.twitter.com/c40mc7fwZY

The play itself looked awkward, and Williams left arm twitched disturbingly as he lay on the turf. It didn’t take long for his teammates to wave for team doctors, and after an evaluation he was carefully carted off the field.
Williams is a senior, so tonight’s his last game. His head made contact with the NIU player he was hitting.

The ESPN broadcast reported that Williams was at least speaking to the doctors, which is a positive sign.
We certainly wish Williams and his family nothing but the best as he gets further treatment and evaluation for this injury.
