Report: Top Miami (F) recruit Jarren Williams to transfer

Miami Hurricanes head coach Mark Richt continues to see players flee his program like a bad plague. It’s certainly not great optics as Richt overhauls his coaching staff.

The latest player to reportedly announce his intention to leave the program is four-star quarterback recruit Jarren Williams.

“Former four-star quarterback Jarren Williams plans on transferring from Miami,” Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports reported on Wednesday. “The expectation is that Williams’ name will be in the NCAA Transfer Portal by Friday, Dec. 21.”

A top-five pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2018, Williams was expected to compete for the Hurricanes’ starting job as a sophomore in 2019. He threw a grand total of one pass during his freshman season.

A native of Georgia, it will certainly be interesting to see where Williams lands. He had initially been a longtime commit of Kentucky.
