Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins has a chance to be among the first of the young men selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, if he chooses to come out of college.
The redshirt sophomore had a phenomenal year quarterbacking for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Heading into the team’s Rose Bowl appearance against Washington, Haskins has completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 4,580 yards with 47 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Just a phenomenal statistical season in which he broke multiple Big Ten records previously held by the great Drew Brees.
He also finished in third place behind Kyler Murray and Tua Tagovailoa in the 2018 Heisman Trophy race.
So, if he did come out after the Rose Bowl and declared for the draft, it stands to reason he’d be doing so with plenty of momentum for a high pick.
According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, there a distinct possibility he will declare.

It makes too much sense. Haskins would have a realistic chance to be the top quarterback taken in the draft, if not the No. 1 overall pick. His pure arm talent is jaw-dropping, and he routinely makes very difficult plays (like this) look easy.
Then there’s the simple fact that the Buckeyes will be moving on from head coach Urban Meyer into the Ryan Day era.
At this point, it would be stunning if Haskins did decide to return to Ohio State for his redshirt junior season. Especially since he recently divulged that he’s nearly done enough to graduate.
