A fourth-round pick of the Rams back in 2016, Cooper earned All-Pro honors last season while ranking among the NFL’s best in both fielding punts and kicks.
Though, injuries hampered him earlier this season. Once he returned to action, Cooper was limited to kick return duties.
In his stead, JoJo Natson will continue to return punts for the first-place Rams. This is interesting in that Natson muffed a punt at a crucial time late in Los Angeles’ loss to the Eagles on Sunday night.
Cooper will now be placed on waivers. It’s expected that some team will claim him after the success he saw as a rookie last season.
