Patrick Beverley hit with $25K fine for throwing ball at Dallas superfan

The NBA came down hard on Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley, fining him $25,000 for “throwing the game ball at a spectator” on Sunday in Dallas.

Beverley was ejected from the game after bouncing the ball into the stands at a fan who was taunting him. The fan who was jawing at him was a Dallas superfan, Don Knobler.

After the game, he explained why he was so heated.

Beverley said Knobler twice told him “f— your mother,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ Andrew Greif.

“I told the referee. I told the security,” Beverley explained. “I mean, I’ve never gotten ejected out of a game since I’ve been in the NBA. You know I play hard, (but) I play within the lines, of course.”

This was Beverley’s first career ejection.
