Steelers DC Keith Butler goes full Stephen A. Smith talking up injured Tyler Eifert

Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler officially has Stephen A. Smith syndrome.

The coach was asked about his final regular-season matchup this year, against the Cincinnati Bengals, and had some very interesting things to say about Tyler Eifert.

“I think he’s very good,” Butler said about Eifert during an interview with Bob Labriola on this week’s Coordinator’s Corner (h/t Steelers Depot). “He’s up there. He can get deep on you. He does a good job of catching the ball downfield. So he’s going to be a problem for us to cover.”

It’s worth noting that Eifert has been on injured reserve since suffering a very memorable and gruesome ankle injury at the end of September.

The interview with Labriola has since been removed, but the damage had already been done. It’s yet another unfortunate brain fart for a top leader of a team that has taken a nose dive the second half of the season and needs help to even make the playoffs this January.
