Bears expect Mitch Trubisky to play Sunday against the Rams

Coming off a surprising loss to the New York Giants last week, the first-place Chicago Bears are set to square off with the Los Angeles Rams in a prime time matchup on Sunday night.

With a solid lead in the NFC North, Chicago still remains alive for a first-round playoff bye. But that’s going to be heavily dependent on young quarterback Mitch Trubisky returning to action. The signal caller has missed each of the past two games with a shoulder injury.

The good news here is that head coach Matt Nagy expects Trubisky to go for Sunday’s showdown with a Rams team that boasts the best record in the NFL.

It goes without saying that Chicago needs Trubisky on the field and playing at a high level to defeat the Rams. Simply put, Chase Daniel wouldn’t provide the Bears with enough firepower to take out Los Angeles.

A top-five pick of the Bears last year, Trubisky is enjoying a stellar sophomore campaign. He’s completing north of 65 percent of his passes with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions on the season.
