Steelers and Cam Newton wear cleats to honor victims of Pittsburgh shooting

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be opposing the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. But the shoes worn by both the Steelers and Carolina quarterback Cam Newton will look a lot alike.

Shortly before Thursday’s game, Pittsburgh’s official Twitter page showed the cleats that will be worn in the game. They’ll honor the victims of the tragic shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue — a senseless act of violence which claimed the lives of 11 people.

Newton will be wearing similar cleats.

This will be the first home game for the Steelers since the shooting on October 27. It promises to be a very emotional night at Heinz Field.
