Report: Sixers pull off Jimmy Butler trade with Minnesota

Here. They. Come. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Philadelphia 76ers are finalizing a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire guard Jimmy Butler.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reports the deal includes both Robert Covington and Dario Saric, and Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed the deal is indeed done.

This is a major haul for the T-Wolves, if we’re being honest, for a player that so clearly had no interest in remaining with the club and was making things difficult while he remained on Minnesota’s roster.

For Philly, it gives a young contender yet another key piece to make a run in the wide-open Eastern Conference, which is there for the taking now that LeBron James is in Los Angeles.
