Redskins reportedly bringing Mark Sanchez in for workout

The Washington Redskins are now in desperation mode at quarterback after starter Alex Smith suffered a season-ending broken tibia and fibula in Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans.

Washington had to roll with veteran backup Colt McCoy for the remainder of the game. And it looks like he’ll get the call from here on out for the first-place team.

Now that Smith is lost for the season, Washington has to go out there and add another quarterback. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team will workout multiple street free agents on Monday. That reportedly includes Mark Sanchez.

Suspended to start this season after violating the NFL’s PED policy, Sanchez last saw action with the Dallas Cowboys back in 2016. He was on the Bears’ roster last season, but didn’t get on the field.

At 6-4 on the season, Washington heads into its Thanksgiving day outing against the Cowboys battling for first place in the NFC East.

Let’s just hope for the sake of the Skins that none of the quarterbacks mentioned above see the field this season. It’s not exactly the best group in the world.
