Mind-boggling historical comparison highlights insanity of Chiefs-Rams game

There are a lot of incredible things to highlight looking back at the instant “Monday Night Football” classic between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams.

The 105 combined points scored in the 54-51 Rams win was the third-most in league history. Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff combined to rack up 925 total yards and 11 touchdowns. There were 14 total touchdowns scored in the see-saw game. The Chiefs were the first team to put 50-plus points on the board and lose.

There’s more.

But here’s something that legendary NFL figure Gil Brandt shared regarding Monday night’s game that really puts it all into perspective.

My goodness.

It really highlights how the game of football has evolved over the years. Whether that’s something you think is a good thing or a bad thing is a whole other topic altogether.
