Saints backup QB has great superhero nickname

The New Orleans Saints have been having fun as of late featuring second-year quarterback Taysom Hill in various formations. And thus far, fans have enjoyed watching Hill bulldoze his way down the field in grand fashion.

Unstoppable at times, Hill is now being referred to as head coach Sean Payton’s “Thor-terback.” This nickname for Hill was created by a staff member at BYU where Hill attended college from 2012-16, according to his former coach Bronco Mendenhall.

Starting quarterback Drew Brees commented on Payton’s obsession with Hill.

“He loves it. Oh, he loves it,” Brees said, per Mike Triplett of ESPN. “A new toy. That’s Sean’s new toy.”

Who might not love seeing Hill sneaking out onto the field are fantasy football owners of some Saints offensive players. Just when said fantasy owner thinks Mark Ingram is going to rush in for the touchdown, the ball goes to Hill.

What to do? The Saints apparently plan to keep utilizing him on special plays. To date, Hill has rushed for 125 yards and one touchdown at the pace of 6.9 yards per carry. He has also recorded seven kick returns for 170 yards.

We must wonder where “Thor-terback” Hill will make his next appearance.
