Report: Greg Olsen will play for Panthers in Week 6 against Washington

After missing the past few weeks with a foot injury, Greg Olsen will once again hit the field for the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins.

For the first time since he re-injured his foot in Week 1, Olsen will play Sunday in Washington.

Olsen is Cam Newton’s favorite, most trusted weapon in the passing game. In the game against Dallas, before exiting with his foot injury, he had caught two passes for 33 yards.

The foot injury he’s dealing with is something that will require surgery after the season is over. It’s the same foot that caused Olsen to miss nine games in 2017. So, from a fantasy football perspective, owners should be wary of putting too much faith in Olsen as a starter.

From Carolina’s perspective, however, this is certainly positive news. If Olsen can manage his pain and keep the foot healthy, then he’ll once again become an integral part of an offense that has been doing some very good things this season.
